The external expression of this new house inserted into an existing stone wall is skilful and wholly modern in its realisation. The crisp white planes of the new form puncture the stone wall and powerfully emphasise the contrasting nature of each.

The sculptural quality of the interior is an abstract play of solid and void contained within controlled light and enhanced by a simple palate of colour and materials.

Architects' Comments
This is a mews house in a cul-de-sac lane re-using fragments of the orioginal coach house and inserting inside a series of modern, continuous spaces with emphasis on space, light and movement.

Clients Comments
This house is everything I want - style, space and lots of natural light. It is easy to live in, wondeful for entertaining and we love it. The architects are impressive.
