Two small derelict houses have been combined, replaced and refurbished to accomodate the new printworks. The form and scale of the original buildings have been carefully maintained and cleverly reused. The thoughtful treatment of the external facades together with the restrained use of colours and signage contribute to a simple and modest expression entirely suited to the use and location of the building.
Architects' Comments
The aim here was to create a subtle, yet strong statement in this prominent corner site. Budget constraints resulted in an imaginative solution to elevational treatment.
