This crisply detailed modern stone building successfully remakes the corner of a city block while serving as the entrance and link to a series of renovated distillery buildings. The new building elements are clear and uncompromising and one is always aware of what is new and what is original, particularly in the "Atrium" space where old and new are both contrasting and complimentary. The building is a result of a limited concept competition managed by the RIAI.
Architects' Comment
Barrister's consulting rooms, a state of the art library, an international arbitration centre and meeting rooms were arranged around three central atria partly within the walls of a former distillery warehouse and in the new purpose structure.
Client's Comment
The new development provides a public face for our rapidly changing profession. The facilities will ensure that the quality of service to clients is maintained while the building itself is a fine contribution to the rejuvenation of the area.
