Located upstream from one of Dublin's most famous landmarks the new bridge already complements its much older neighbour. The generous sweep of the quay footpaths meet the new structure with a mature lightens of touch and with controlled restraint in the detailing of the limited palette of materials.The bridge, lit at night by concealed fibre optic lights, already confirms why it was a clear winner over 156 other entries in the open international competition.
