The strategic decision on the footprint of the two new buildings which comprise this scheme has created two linked spaces of differing character joined visually through the transparency of the ground floor swimming-pool.  A mature understanding of the formal power of a large public building has created a generous legacy of two unexpected but very welcome public spaces in this important location.
