RIAI launches search for Ireland’s favourite building of 2017

In advance of the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards on June 23rd, the RIAI today launched the Public Choice vote for Ireland’s favourite building or place. A shortlist of 60 houses, offices, schools and colleges, heritage locations and public spaces has been announced and is available to view on the following link: http://www.irisharchitectureawards.ie/public-choice-2017.

Online voting is now open and will continue until Friday June 16th.

The 2017 shortlist includes 60 projects across 13 counties and three international – in Hungary, Poland and Palestine, all of which have been designed by RIAI registered architects. While Dublin is strongly represented with 32 buildings or places on the list, there are entries from 13 counties across Ireland, including 2 from Northern Ireland.

The RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2017 include the following Award categories:
1. Commercial / Retail / Fit-Out - This Award is kindly supported by Lisney

3. Cultural  / Public / Community Buildings - This Award is kindly supported by KCC Architectural

5. Future Award – a new talent in architecture, in association with Architecture Ireland, the RIAI Journal
6. Health Care Buildings - This Award is kindly supported by Soprema
7. House of the Year – new houses and houses extensions in Dublin,  Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster  - This Award is kindly supported by Miele
8. Housing (more than 1 unit) - This Award is kindly supported by Vandersanden of  'Kingscourt Country Manor Bricks'
9. International Award – projects by registered Irish Architects overseas. - This Award is kindly supported by Enterprise Ireland
10. Place of the Year – Places and Spaces in Dublin and in Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster This Award is kindly supported by Dulux Trade.
